4 Severn Street, Maroubra
The building at 4 Severn Street, Maroubra had a number of problems that Mainland Building Solutions were contracted to rectify. Concrete spalling repairs were carried out to all concrete elements of the building where required using the Sika Monotop repair system.
Membrane systems to the existing balconies had surpassed their lifespan causing severe water ingress. Mainland Building Solutions demolished the brick balustrades, tiles and topping screed to all balconies. New screeds were installed to correct falls followed by a new membrane system, tiling and the installation of new powdercoated aluminum and glass balustrading.
The existing brickwork was suffering salt etching and erosion so the facades were high pressure water blasted and defective bricks replaced. A polymer modified cement render system (Quickwall) was then applied to the existing brickwork followed by a three coat system using Dulux Elastomeric facade membrane coating.
Mainland Building Solutions removed and replaced all existing windows and sliding doors to the building with new powder coated aluminium windows and doors and installed all associated head and sill flashings required. New hobs were constructed to accommodate the new sliding doors.
At the completion of the project all building defects were rectified and the building was transformed with a complete new look.
